About Stay Scotland

Stay Scotland is a family-run business, passionate about sharing the best of Innerleithen and the Tweed Valley with visitors.

We have travelled and been fortunate enough to live in the US Pacific Northwest, as well as the Californian Coast. However, the beauty of The Scottish Borders called us back to our roots, our true home. However, the beauty of the borders called us home. Having fully settled here over fifteen years ago to raise our children, we love our local area and can give you our insider knowledge to ensure you explore the treasures of this special place.

No matter what you need, we are always on hand to ensure your stay is unforgettable.

Sustainability

Sustainability is at the heart of everything we do, and our refurbishment work was undertaken to be as eco-friendly as possible. Sustainability has been factored into our design at every stage, from air source heat pumps heating systems to the ensuite wet walls.

We are also committed to responsible travel and positively supporting our community by contributing to the local economy, infrastructure, and businesses.

Wherever possible, we always choose to work with local suppliers, to help showcase the riches that Tweed Valley has to offer.

We provide welcome hampers with delicious treats from local artisans, and you will find decorative touches from local artists throughout our rooms, including hand-woven blankets and throws.

To find out more, you will need to come and stay to see for yourself!

A Legacy of Hospitality

The Tweedside is located within the iconic building of the former Tweedside Hotel.

Built in 1843 by Alex Brodie in the “middle” of the street – giving rise to its local nickname, “The Middle” – it was initially called The Commercial, before being renamed The Volunteer in 1877, and finally, The Tweedside Hotel in the 1950s.

Beloved by generations of locals and guests for almost 200 years, we are so excited to carry on the rich history of hospitality that lives within these walls and can’t wait to welcome you through our new doors in the future.
